How the Process Works

Read this before you start applying for scholarships to understand how it works and how the
funds can be used.

When you click the Apply button for any scholarship on the scholarship list page, you will be asked to either sign up for an account by creating a login email and password, or sign into your previously-created account. If this is your first time applying for a SkillPointe Scholarship, you'll then be asked to fill in some basic biographic and demographic information to create a personalized scholarship account before submitting the scholarship application.

Once you've created a login email and password for one scholarship program, you can use the same email and password to apply for any other SkillPointe Scholarships you might be eligible for. Your personalized scholarship account information will also be completed for any scholarship you apply for once you've filled it in, though this can be edited at any time if your contact information changes.

On the left side of the login page for each scholarship, you’ll see eligibility criteria and rules that apply for that specific program. Some scholarship programs are appropriate only for certain industries or skillsets, so be sure to look over those criteria before applying. However, we're always adding new scholarships, so check back often to see if you're eligible for a new one!

Normally, you can apply to each scholarship only once - though sometimes exceptions are granted under special or extenuating circumstances. If you think this might apply to you, please reach out at scholarships@skillpointefoundation.org to let us know. Applicants who have previously been awarded a SkillPointe Scholarship typically aren't eligible to receive another.

Applicants who are awarded a scholarship will be notified by email and given two weeks to accept their award and fill in their school or technical program details. If an award is not accepted in this time frame, the offer will expire and be given to another applicant. Scholarship awards are paid directly to your school or training program and can be used for a variety of different purposes (see below).
