$5,000 Scholarships for Eligible Students

in the United States and Canada Pursuing Skilled Trades Education

Stanley Black & Decker has established the DEWALT Trades Scholarship to help power the next generation of skilled workers. Through this program, students can receive financial support as they pursue high-demand careers in the trades. 

 

By investing in education and hands-on training and in alignment with Stanley Black & Decker's Grow the Trades Initiative, DEWALT is helping students build strong foundations, spark innovation, harness the power of their skills & shape the future of the workforce.

Eligibility

Applicants to the DEWALT Trades Scholarship must be:

  • Pursuing skilled trades training or education in the United States or Canada.

  • Currently enrolled in or accepted to a post-secondary school or training program and pursuing a high-demand skilled trade. Primary focus includes community colleges, vocational or technical institutions, career centers, dual enrollment programs, 2-year transitional programs.  

  • Pursuing educational training related to one of the following industries:

    • 🔨  Construction – Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Masonry, HVAC, Pipefitting, Welding

    • 🏭  Industrial – Maintenance & Repair Technicians, Manufacturing, Plant Operations, Fabrication, Quality Control, Robotics & Automation

    • ⚡  Motor / Power – Diesel, Automotive, Small Engine Repair, Power Plant Operations, Generators & Turbines

    • 🔧  Mechanics – Automotive Service, Heavy Equipment Operations, Aviation (mechanics, avionics), Fleet Maintenance, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems

    • 💡  Technology – Applied Electronics & Controls, Computer Aided Design (CAD)/Drafting, Electrical Engineering, Fire Science, Mechatronics

    • Other Related Career Focus/Pathway

  • Employees and/or spouses or dependents of employees of Stanley Black & Decker or DEWALT are not eligible to apply.

  • Awards are one-time only. Past recipients may not re-apply.

  • Individuals pursuing degrees/certificates in service industries such as healthcare, culinary arts, cosmetology, or hospitality are not eligible to apply.

Announcements

  • Application opens on November 4, 2025.

  • Application closes on February 28, 2026.

  • The SkillPointe Foundation processes scholarship payments on behalf of Stanley Black & Decker. Recipient notifications will be sent via email and text message by the end of March 2026. Payments will be made for enrolled students beginning in April 2026.

  • Scholarship awards are paid directly to the school. Please review how funds can be used on the How it Works page.
